BlueNote will be Friday, February 12 at 6:00pm at the Empyrean (new location: 171 S Washington in Spokane). Come see EWU undergraduates share their poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction. Following will be VoiceOver, the graduate student reading. Both events are free and open to the public.
Every spring Northwest Boulevard publishes a journal filled with the creative writings of Eastern’s undergraduates and alumni: poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, art, and photography (though we’re not afraid to publish cross-genre or non-genre pieces (if that’s possible)).
Northwest Boulevard is nearing its 17th year. It was started in 1993, and is available in the English Department lounge in Patterson 250, though we are running out of copies of the 2009 issue because it was very popular with the literary types.
Our office is located in the PUB, room 219. Office hours for Winter 2010: MW: 11:00AM – 12:00PM. TR: 1:00PM – 2:30PM
Meetings are held in PUB 219. If you would like to help design the journal and edit submissions, please come; everyone is welcome to join the club. NW Blvd. also organizes free public readings called BlueNote, at the Empyrean coffee house. If you’ve some chops and would like to share them to a loving audience, contact us.

This year’s journal is going to be a good one. We accept submissions year round, so check out our guideline sheet, or e-mail us with questions, suggestions, anecdotes, prose, poetry, or jokes. Take care. And check back for updates as scheduling is subject to change.
